What is an Affidavit ?
Affidavit is declaration by a Deponent (Person on who's name the affidavit is made) to state or declare a particular fact. It is a written statement from an individual which is sworn to be true. It is an oath that what the individual is saying is the truth. An affidavit is used along with witness statements to prove the truthfulness of a certain statement in court.
Affidavits can be useful to change your name, signature, declare that you have lost your belongings such as identity proofs, share certificates, educational certificates, etc. Also if you need to prove gap period between your studies. Also, it can be helpful in your day declaration of name, date of birth, address, income etc. Any fact which you want to declare legally can be made through an affidavit which may also including an undertaking of some particular responsibility.
